Climatic and Non-Climatic Drivers of Plant Diversity along an Altitudinal Gradient in the Taihang Mountains of Northern China

چکیده

Climate is critical for plant altitudinal distribution patterns. Non-climatic factors also have important effects on vegetation in mountain regions. The purpose of this study was to explore the current diversity along gradient Taihang Mountain range northern China and estimate climatic non-climatic elevational pattern. Through a field survey, total 480 sampling plots were established central range. Alpha diversities (the Shannon–Weiner index Simpson index) beta Jaccard Cody measured based survey data. Plant community structure change explored by measuring indices. Canonical correspondence analysis carried out determine influencing distribution. contributions determined partial methods. results showed that complied with “hump-shaped” pattern, which communities medium altitude area higher had species turnover rate, factors, particularly anthropogenic an influence In conclusion, both It strongly recommended reduce human interference protection management.

Diversity of Woodland Communities and Plant Species along an Altitudinal Gradient in the Guancen Mountains, China

Study on plant diversity is the base of woodland conservation. The Guancen Mountains are the northern end of Luliang mountain range in North China. Fifty-three quadrats of 10 m × 20 m of woodland communities were randomly established along an altitudinal gradient. Data for species composition and environmental variables were measured and recorded in each quadrat. To investigate the variation of...

Diversity and distribution of Odonata (Insecta) larvae along an altitudinal gradient in Coalcomán mountains, Michoacán, Mexico.

Evaluating components of landscape diversity is essential for the implementation of efficient conservation strategies. We evaluated the diversity of Odonata larval assemblages from the Coalcomán mountains (CM), Michoacán, Mexico, and related it to local (site-level) habitat variables. Larvae were collected from shores, riffles and pools in five streams, counted and identified to species, twice ...

Species presence frequency and diversity in different patch types along an altitudinal gradient: Larix chinensis Beissn in Qinling Mountains (China).

Forest communities are mosaic systems composed of patches classified into four different developmental patch types: gap patch (G), building patch (B), mature patch (M) and degenerate patch (D). To study the mechanisms maintaining diversity in subalpine coniferous forests, species presence frequency and diversity in the four distinct patch types (G, B, M and D) of Larix chinensis conifer forests...

Dissolved Organic Carbon in Headwater Streams and Riparian Soil Organic Carbon along an Altitudinal Gradient in the Wuyi Mountains, China

Stream water dissolved organic carbon (DOC) correlates positively with soil organic carbon (SOC) in many biomes. Does this relationship hold in a small geographic region when variations of temperature, precipitation and vegetation are driven by a significant altitudinal gradient? We examined the spatial connectivity between concentrations of DOC in headwater stream and contents of riparian SOC ...
